Who We Are

We nourish the bodies, minds, and hearts of those facing cancer through the power of healthy meals and nutrition education.

History

The Heimerdinger Foundation was founded in 2011, in memory of Mike Heimerdinger. In 2010, Mike Heimerdinger, a former offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. During his battle with cancer, his family learned the benefits of eating nutritious, whole foods to support the body. In memory of Mike Heimerdinger's life, The Heimerdinger Foundation was organized to promote healthier lifestyles.

What We Do

Meals 4 Health & Healing Program

  • Food is purchased and donated from local farms, farmers markets, grocery stores and producers.  We also harvest food from our giving garden.
  • Volunteers come to our kitchen and prepare delicious organic meals for people dealing with cancer. We also prepare meals for some of our client's caregivers.
  • The meals are delivered by volunteer Delivery Angels free of charge to clients in the Nashville community.
  • Our clients are supported by volunteer client liaisons, who visit them at their home, help them understand how our meals can make a difference in their healing and make sure the food is working for them.
