Volunteer: Disaster Action Team (Disaster Responder) - Humphreys County, TNJoin the Red Cross volunteer team to help communities during disasters such as: Home Fires, Tornadoes and or Floods. Works as part of an assigned team to respond to local disasters within two hours, or as soon as possible. Delivers immediate direct client assistance in accordance with Red Cross standards and procedures. Works with on-scene lead to assess whether additional resources/support are required and communicates those needs to DAT Leadership. Attends regularly scheduled team/DAT meetings as required by Chapter/Region. Commits to being available during assigned shifts and communicate scheduling conflicts with DAT Leadership.Every day, people are forced from their home due to fires, storms or other disasters. You will work as part of an assigned team to provide immediate support and assistance to individuals and families who have been impacted by a home fire or other local disaster. Training is free, but the hope you bring is priceless. Please note all volunteers must pass a background check for theft and violence.
