Description

Join Out: Loud for a virtual reading and conversation with Sharae Green (Fisk ’08), writing under the pen name Verde Arzu, a Black queer indie author and publisher. Verde will share selections from her works RAINBOW and PROMISE KEEPER, both set at the fictional Franklin University—an HBCU-inspired campus deeply influenced by her lived experience at Fisk University.

This event will explore Black queer storytelling, authenticity in writing, and the creative process of building narratives rooted in community, identity, and truth-telling. The session will include a short reading, guided discussion, and an open Q&A focused on writing, independent publishing, and finding your voice both on the page and in the world.
